| Has anybody had any experience with the new smaller Ranger? Any reports? I read on the website that it has a 450cc engine with 29HP and will go 40MPH. Its about 4 inches narrower and a little shorter too. Im liking that $7999.00 price!! |
I used to have '06 610 4x4, 2"lift,26" MudLites,ITP C series Type 7 Black, StickStoppers, 3000lb winch, Tiny Tach on dash, 5 panel rearview, Rubber mounted roof,Thunderhawk rear bumper, Invisible steering wheel cover, Stereo, Soft roll-up windshield, rear seats and roll cage |

We have one. Thunderhawk Performance already has some parts made for the Ranger 400 and we've got a bunch more coming. Unfortunately, our Ranger 400 has spent all of it's life in the shop (getting parts built), so I can't give you an in-depth report on how I like the vehicle on the trail.
I can say that it's a well-built machine, the HP is better than other 450-class UTV's, and the price is right. I think that this machine will steal a bunch of sales from the Rhino 450, and also pull people up that are looking at the Mule 610.

| I haven't seen the mid size Ranger yet. I did try to find one earlier in the Fall but couldn't. I did find one dealer who had three of them and he said they all sold right away. I sure would like to try one out. |

| I watched one driving through mud at the Polaris dealer show last summer and it was impressive! It is very quick at take off and it fits easily in the back of a pick up. |

| I finally got to look at the smaller Ranger last week. I took it for a short ride at the dealers but there are no trails in that area so couldn't really give it a good try. Also the salesman rode along with me. The machine seems to handle good and rides nice, the turning radius is very short. I did notice some vibration in the steering wheel which I think was caused from the engine, this might go away at higher rpm's. The steering wheel is not adjustable so the distance between the steering wheel and the back of the seat is kind of tight for me. The exhaust is quiet. I think it's a pretty good machine. I would choose this machine over a 450 Rhino. |

That's not too bad, considering I paid abut that for my Rhino 450 3 years ago. Might have to check them out.
Since it has 455 CC, why didn't they call it a 450? |

| I got one last week and the ride is amazing and the little bugger gets up and goes.I don't see the need for a 500 or 700.This one will do 45mph which plenty fast.I have put it to work hauling gravel around the yard and it doesn't even seem to have a problem with a load of dirt on. |

It should easily outsell the 450 Rhino... Especially now that Yamaha discontinued it...
It's odd how they named it 400 when the motor is a 455. Good unit though for a guy that wants a bench seat to squeeze 3 people in from time to time and still go out and have some fun with it...
