This dirt sucking issue has been well known since the Rzer’s introduction. I waited until the factory fixed the issue before my purchase. At my Polaris dealer, they showed me the fix alert memo that resulted from these nationwide problems. I too have been a Polaris owner for many years and have never had a serious issue with any of my ATV’s. Other than my propensity to fall off em or get thrown off em was my very own personal problem.

I have since been on two very dusty weekends and checking my air box has indicated about the same amount dust/dirt outside of the pre-cleaner cover filter than my previous ATV’s. The only problem I have had so far is the chinsy lock-down latches as I snapped one already trying to latch the thing back on. I hope aftermarket comes along with much better quality one’s. I find it to be another example of cheap cost cutting to produce such easily broken hardware.

I too am awaiting an aftermarket fresh air snorkel kit, as I believe that would be a very good alternative.

Yes, I'm a Rhino owner & no I'm not bashing the Razer. In fact I feel for ya on the engine. One thing I spotted on the Rhino forums after buying was the 660 having major engine problems. I yanked the low hour engine out while it was still good & sold it. Rotax 800 2-stroke conversion currently in progress. If the air box is the only problem with the RZR power plant, then if it were mine Id build the snot out of the hurt engine & do away with the crappy designed air box. If Polaris is having more issues than that, Id transplant that . Either way -best of luck to ya, the RZR's are a blast to ride. As far as the G.E. extended warranty program goes, they can suck my arse. I had a legit claim on a blown rear end in my Bounder coach & they totally screwed me. You may have better results than I did. Hope so, sounds like you're ready for some good luck.----Proflow

One of the first stickies on this forum is about oil burning for one. That doesn't scare me, its the bearing support & soft rod were they screwed up. Abba makes a billet support & the rod can be upgraded as well, but it usually doesn't happen until after the CDI is swapped out, revved up & scattered to crap. I dont like bashing on any manufactures faults, I'm just stating the facts. In my opinion the only way to truly cure cancer is to cut it out.---Proflow

it is my belief (after years of this stuff!) that the 660 was a very solid platform. i sincerely hope that my 700 proves as reliable as both my 660s did.

Yamaha did in fact improve the the powerplant big time. The 700 is a COMPLETELY different engine w/a much stronger bottem end & many other improvements as well. Its nice to see the fuel injection instead of the carb too.---Proflow

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update....New motor installed" $1280.00 labor only....we put 6 hrs on it no prob. took it to dealer for oil change ck-up. go to glamis..4hrs later wont start..no compression...dealer said sand got in lifters..WTF!!! 780.00 later we got the pile o chit back. looks like sand came in thru breather tube that some jakazz designed to be attached to the crappy airbox that fills with sand/dirt...what the hell is polaris thinkin with that junk airbox..hmmm design and sell an offroad vehicle that sucks dirt into the engine... maybe I should start a boat company that builds boats that wont float...bigmike

XXXXXX
Update... piece of crap now has 102hrs and dirt is in the engine again. I had a custom K/N fab'ed and no dirt past the filter, the dirt must be getting in from some tube they didnt hook up right. Wont start, sounds like no compression..same problem as last season, 12 hrs on 4th engine...my briggs powered golf cart follows the rzr everywhere and has had the same motor for 3 years..no problem..I am so done spending my cash on this pile. I think all of us with this junk product should file a class action lawsuit.. if your using oil you will soon be in the same boat as me.

I had to deal with GE once on something. I had trouble with them as well. I am not a fan of the GE programs.

Glad to see Polaris finally came around on the air box & there other small glitches.
I was gifted today to see a good friend of mine purchase a new S-Model RZR.
Holey hell is all I have to say !
Wow that thing rips !

If anyone wants the same kinda H.P. as the new one.

Buy new & you will be happy. For sure. That machine moves out.

If there is still any big time power junkies out there & need A LOT more--
I'm going to offer a TWIN TWO STROKE CONVERSION.
This is based off of the tried & true Rotax 787 watercraft engine (115 stock) & only built in house by me.
No sublet. No excuses. Period.

IE: No kit available. P.M. me if interested

Thanks--Proflow
This is going to be a very limited run for people who are serious.
